Badee, a Syrian refugee and former computer engineer had faced numerous challenges when starting a new life in Australia. With a family to support, Badee came up against difficulties in finding suitable employment due to language barriers and unfamiliarity with the Australian IT industry. Through the BSL Jobs Victoria Program, he secured casual work at @Enable, a social enterprise that keeps tech waste out of landfill.

The Enable team are passionate about providing employment pathway opportunities for people who otherwise might not get a look in. Employability skills program participants and employees are supported with their employment goals that can lead to opening of doors to greater job opportunities in the open labour market.
Badee now considers the people at Enable as his second family, acknowledging their crucial support in his achievements. Proving that when someone is given a chance for a new job, they are also given a chance at a new life.
