Enable Social Enterprise is proud to celebrate the completion of Year 2 of our 3-Year Community Grant partnership with Hume City Council - supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds, including migrants and people with disabilities, into meaningful employment pathways.
Cumulative Impact (Years 1 & 2)
Since January 2024, with Council support, our Greener Futures Employability Skills Program has achieved:
132 participants engaged in employability skills training
$29,198.98 paid, 100% (full) award wages to people experiencing disadvantage
Strengthened referral partnerships with specialist schools, NDIS providers, and community organisations
These outcomes significantly exceed original targets and demonstrate the growing demand for inclusive, supported employment pathways in Hume.
Creating Jobs Through Social Enterprise
Participants gain hands-on experience through e-waste recycling, IT asset disposition, and data sanitisation services - developing practical skills while contributing to environmental sustainability. This model enables Enable Social Enterprise to create roles with full award paid wages while delivering real social and environmental impact.
Looking Ahead
As we enter the final year of Hume City Council's Community grant, we look forward to expanding opportunities further and continuing to build an inclusive and sustainable local workforce.
Get Involved
We’re currently accepting referrals from NDIS, community, employment and training service organisations for eligible participants.
